Doing It For The Gram

Eight of our best spots for your grid! With some of the most beautiful beaches, rivers, waterholes and bushland on Australia's east coast, the Sutherland Shire has more than its fair share of 'grammable locations. Here are a few of our favourites, served with matching cafes, bars and restaurants.

1. Sylvania Waters (pic by @peak_creative)
This palm-lined island estate boasts almost as many boats as cars and the blues of the swimming pools match the water of the Georges River only metres away.  Stop in at The Ugly Cook for coffee and a big breakfast or check out Cafe Cherry Beans on Box Road for coffee, breakfast and lunch

2. Elouera Beach (pic by @nullafy2230)
Any time is a good time to grab a shot of beautiful Elouera Beach, and the yellow lifeguard tower adds a little more Australia to the pic. For the best burgers in town check out Elouera Takeaway on the corner of Hume and Elouera Roads or head up to the Wanderer Cafe at Wanda beach for coffee, breakfast and lunch.

3. Kamay National Park (pic by @shikaaa_ptg)
Head to one of Sydney's best whale watching spots. Cape Solander, located in the Kurnell section of Kamay Botany Bay National Park is an unbeatable lookout during whale watching season. While your there also explore the history of Captain Cooks landing place. Grab a bite to eat at Cook at Kurnell, or if you're around in the afternoon pop in for a drink. Local favourite, Silver Beach Cafe is great for kids, with beautiful views and old-style takeaway food.

4. North Cronulla (pic by Benmack)
With its ocean and rock pools, sandy beach and palm tree lined park, North Cronulla beach has all the goods for that winning beachside insta-pic. Drop into the North Cronulla Beach Kiosk at the Surf Life Saving Club for coffee, breakfast and lunch or if you're after a special lunch or dinner try Sealevel Restaurant overlooking the ocean, or Alphabet St (make sure to book ahead).

5. Audley, Royal National Park (pic by traceys2230)
Take your fill of riverside photos, paddle in rowboats and shoot sandy bushland beaches alongside Kangaroo Creek. When you've finished shooting for the day stop in at Audley Dancehall and Cafe for a coffee and traditional meal in this historic building - it's worth a few photos itself.

6. Lilli Pilli Reserve (pic by @james_ja_photography)
With gorgeous view up the Hacking River the reserve at Lilli Pilli is well worth a stop to capture the diverse blues and sandbars that peek through the water at low tide. Stop in a Vitalo for a nourishing meal at breakfast, brunch or lunch or if you fancy a takeaway grab some fish and chips or a burger at Port Hacking Seafood.

7. Como (pic by @aceglav)
Any time of the day is a good time to photograph Como with its tidal pools, marina, train and footbridge and river and bushland setting. Grab a coffee, breakfast and lunch at the Como Waterfront Cafe, breakfast and lunch at Blackfish, or enjoy lunch and dinner at Thai Rim Nam.

8. The Needles
An easy access waterhole that's perfect for shots off the rope swings or beautiful reflections on the water. Just wander down the firetrail from Engadine and enjoy the serenity as you strike a pose. Stop in at Hugh John Manors or Chill at Engadine for coffee, breakfast and lunch.
